information includes substance use disorder (SUD) records, those records receive additional federal protection. We may use and disclose SUD records only as permitted by law or with your written authorization.
LEGAL PROTECTIONS FOR SUD RECORDS
SUD records generally may not be used or disclosed in any civil, criminal, administrative, or legislative proceeding against you without your specific written consent or a court order, except as otherwise permitted by law.
REDISCLOSURE NOTICE
Information disclosed by us may be re-disclosed by the recipient and may no longer be protected by HIPAA, although other laws may still apply, especially to SUD records.
USES AND DISCLOSURES BASED ON YOUR AUTHORIZATION
Except as stated in more detail in the Notice of Privacy practices, we will not use or disclose your health information without your written authorization.
